What’s inside is not determined by things we have managed to accumulate. The riches of life depend on the way we live, not what we acquire.
What are your riches?
Are they things…is it your stuff? Proud of the big house, need the fancy car (and envy your neighbors), lust for the prestigous job or are greedy to get the newest tech gadget?
What’s important to you? How many of the 7 Deadly Sins do we live each week? Greed, Gluttony, Pride, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, and Envy – we might not want to admit it but we struggle those sins all the time. Let us live in Generosity, Moderation, Humility, Chastity, Zeal, Meekness, and Charity and spread virtues throughout our day.
We can spend our lives accumulating lots of shoes or lots of love
We can spend our lives accumulating the best gifts or giving the best gifts to others. We live in a world that places importance on what we have rather than who we are.
Sometimes it feels as if we are lost in a maze and can’t find our way out, we are searching and seeking but truly just want someone to say “it’s okay, slow down, breathe”.
Accumulate friends, memories, faith and love and you will be blessed with grace and humility. Spend time this weekend doing just that!
