Vacation Time

“Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you”
Get away, find a place to refresh and relax! During these challenging economic times, it may have to just be time off at home – but don’t underestimate the importance of taking time as a family or as an individual.

Vacations have always been important to our family – we usually travel to Florida or Colorado to visit family and lay on a beach or hike respectfully. Even when our children were young, every Easter, we took time at Easter break and reconnected with each other. Mostly it was driving in a van that helps us to rediscover our connectiveness. We never minded the driving long distance (especially since my husband did most of the driving), it was the long tired drive home that may have been hard – but that’s because we did not want to go back to the realities of life.

Jesus calls us to refresh – we can refresh in Him, through quiet moments of silence and prayer – but we also every once in a while need to go…leave…reconnect…regroup…recharge so that we can serve the Lord and others better.

Enjoy your July vacations!
