One small step for man

Yesterday we celebrated the 40th anniversary of landing on the moon. What perspective did the astronauts have? How did they see earth? Did it change their lives? How could it not! Few people are privileged to go into space, to glimpse the earth from above. It looks incredible in movies and pictures, but to cast your own eyes upon the earth as a whole would be a moving, spiritual experience.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…and it was good. God blessed us with this planet, for us to take care of and to allow the earth to nurture us. In our daily lives, do we stop and notice the rainbows? Even simpler, do we stop and notice the wind on our faces and thank the Lord for the wind? For in the wind is the Spirit, moving amongst us. As we reflect on the landing on the moon, let us also reflect on the whole of the earth and all of it’s fruits, given freely to us by God.
